PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be hitting mobile screens, not once, but twice, so make sure you have your power banks on hand and a good data plan for your phone. One of the games will be developed by Tencent’s Timi Studio and will have exclusive features, currently not available on other platforms, such as naval battles!
The second game is being handled by Lightspeed and Quantum Studios, which also happens to belong to Tencent, so at this point we would be fine with the sequel being title Tencent Battlegrounds Tence Players Unknown Tencent. Both games are being made in Unreal Engine 4 and were revealed, complete with trailers that can be seen on Weibo.
PUBG – Let Me Out The Window!
In terms of release date information, Tencent have not given any hints yet, but we do know that for the first wave launch these two titles will be kicking off in China first and we suspect they will naturally expand across global markets. Is PUBG something that will adapt well to the mobile market? That’s yet to be seen, but China has proven to be deeply invested in supporting mobile titles, such as Critical Ops.
