Dallas Cowboys Might Buy an Esports Team

Football teams have been getting in an the eSport craze and now it’s American Football who’s peaking in to show interest, The Dallas Cowboys to be exact. Matt O’Neil, senior VP of brand marketing stated:

 

When it comes to something like e-sports, it makes so much sense for us because we’re such a sales driven organization,”

“If we thought we could buy a team for — gimme a number — $2 million, $3 million, $5 million or whatever, but get $7 million in sponsorship deals over the next couple years it becomes a no-brainer.”

 

They have gone with the marketing agency Epsilon to help them look into the world of esport team buying. Epsilon recently launched, called Data Design, a methd of utilising which brands are associated with e-sports and who could pair well with Dallas Cowboys’ fan demographic. Matt O’Neil went on to say:

 

If we thought we could buy a team for — gimme a number — $2 million, $3 million, $5 million or whatever, but get $7 million in sponsorship deals over the next couple years, it becomes a no-brainer,”
