Good news mobile esport fans! The Street Fighter series will now be venturing into the mobile market, after it’s been declared that Capcom’s Beeline is teaming up with Skillz, a mobile esports platform to create a new Street Fighter game.
“With this partnership, Street Fighter will define the future of competitive mobile gameplay,” said Andrew Paradise, CEO of Skillz.
Skillz was previously focused primarily on casual gamers, being known especially for”Bubble Shooter.” This partnership will mean their first steps into tackling and dominating the moile market with a AAA game.
“The push to attract the core gamer demographic is about more than boosting annual revenues and the total number of users. It’s also a drive to widen the larger playing field for eSports“, says Paradise.
Beeline, the Capcom subsidiary, is an interesting choice for running this with it’s more recent games going relatively unnoticed, bar their Ghostbusters game. The combined experience and freshness of Beelin and Skillz should hopefully lead to a great game that will have a positive impact on the mobile esport market.
